Location-Based Attendance: Check-In and Privacy
GRGO location attendance uses a one-time athlete check-in request, not continuous location tracking. When an academy enables it, the athlete grants device location permission and checks in within its configured boundary. Authorised staff can make audited corrections.

What happens during a location check-in?
Open the attendance flow for the relevant academy and request check-in. The browser may ask for location permission. Device accuracy and the academy’s configured boundary affect whether a check-in can be accepted.
Use your own signed-in account and follow the academy’s attendance rules. A facility booking does not automatically mark attendance, and being near a venue does not itself create an attendance record. Check the result shown after submission.
What if location is inaccurate or unavailable?
Indoor conditions, browser permission settings and device accuracy can affect a location reading. Check that location access is allowed for the site and that the academy selected is correct. Do not repeatedly submit false coordinates or use another person’s account.
If you are present but cannot complete a valid self-check-in, contact authorised academy staff. Staff overrides are audited rather than silently rewriting the athlete’s record. Explain the issue so the operator can correct the appropriate date and athlete entry.
Protect account and location information
Location attendance is distinct from continuous monitoring. GRGO does not need an athlete to keep sharing their whereabouts throughout the day to support a one-time check-in. Read the privacy page for the platform’s information-handling notice.
Guardians should discuss attendance practices with the academy when managing a child’s training. Never send passwords, one-time verification codes or private invitation links to someone claiming that these are required to improve location accuracy.
